Backrooms is a first person POV dungeon puzzle with switches, traps, hidden passages, and enemies. Created by Logan Zhang, Oleg Ivlev, Emily Hao, and Isabella Blair.

How to Play:

Use WASD to walk, left shift to sprint, space to jump, and the left mouse button/E to interact with the environment. Use the I button to toggle your inventory. 

Current Changelog (10/11):

  • added a message/notification system in response to playtesting feedback that we can easily repurpose for hints/inventory pickup notifications
  • redesigned doors and added animation
  • doors shake when locked and notify through messaging system
  • integrated keys with inventory management system
  • Added enemies and prefabbed them, one which follows the player and one which follows a specific route
  • Added the enemy into the player health taking system
  • Adjusted player behavior script and made playertakedmg into a public function so enemy script could use it to deal dmg to player
  • Used capsule as kinematic to allow trigger between enemy and player
  • Used a box capsule on the enemies to make sure the player can't walk through them
  • added crosshairs
  • Added spike trap which shoots up on contact with player and retracts when player walks away
  • Ugly but functional inventory UI
  • Toggle inventory UI with I key
